The 2016 Bridgetown ITU/CAMTRI Sprint Triathlon Pan American Cup is scheduled for Sunday 17th April 2016 in, Bridgetown, BARBADOS.
The triathlon is the brain child of the BFIT Federation which was established in 1990 by a small group of practising triathletes who were attracted to the sport though, virtually new to the world and even newer to Barbados and the Caribbean at that time.
The Federation caters to all age group athletes, including children, and welcomes newcomers to their races which are always a lot of fun!
CGM Gallagher Group is fully committed to regional community development and recognizes the significant role sports play in community development and is honoured to be a part of the Triathlon.

CGM Gallagher has introduced a value added homeowners insurance plan for members of the Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP).
Speaking at the press conference to launch the BARP Golden Homes Group Homeowners Insurance Plan on Wednesday at CGM headquarters, Managing Director at CGM Gallagher, Michael Tomlin said that a lot of research went into the development of this plan.
¡°Yes it is competitive premiums, but a big part of our CGM Gallagher ways is looking at premiums, but also value added. So we spent a lot of time looking at our policy wordings so we compared all the insurance policy wordings for homeowners across Barbados and came up with our own customized wording specifically for BARP members.¡±
He stated that as a result a variety of things would be covered under this insurance plan, which not only includes new aspects, but also the things that are usually covered under such a plan such as protection from hurricanes and earthquakes.
¡°So this included higher liability limits which then is standard in a policy; we included lower deductibles which is standard in most homeowner¡¯s policies and it included a lot of extras such as luggage and contents. So if your luggage was stolen when traveling, we have coverage for that. We have coverage for pet insurance. We have a lower average clause than a standard homeowner¡¯s policy and of coarse it has the core coverages such as hurricane, earthquake, fire etc.¡±
Tomlin added that they have also partnered with Brydens Insurance and Sagicor in order to ensure that they are presenting the best possible plan for BARP members.
¡°We also made sure that we had very strong security. So we Brydens Insurance and also, Sagicor that are very strong financially and also have a have a rating of AM best rating of A minus so that holds very strong for any BARP member and then finally, we have a lot of other extras such as 24 hour claim support. So if there is a claim, we have a number where you can call to get help on it. In addition we have up to ten months payment plans and then finally, we would be able to issue the policy wording very, very quickly, within a couple of days.
There is no doubt that the economic situation has affected every Barbadian household. More so it has substantially decreased the spending power of BARP members, especially pensioners who already live on a limited budget.
As the membership of BARP grows, the Association continues to partner with Corporate Barbados in an effort to lower the cost of living of its 40,000 plus members.
BARP's partnership with CGM Gallagher in launching the Golden Homes Group Homeowners Insurance Plan, affirms its position that home insurance is an absolute necessity in reducing the vulnerability of its members. This home insurance plan will offer security regarding one of their most valued assets and is underwitten by A.M. Best A Rated insurers who has been operating for several years across the Caribbean.
Under the Golden Home Group Homeowners Insurance Plan, BARP members can insure any residential property including condominiums, town houses, villas, apartment blocks and individual homes. Construction can be of wood, concrete or a combination of both. They may also insure their contents, even if renting. Buildings and contents are covered against a range of events including flood, hurricane, earthquake and related perils.
The plan provides cover for loss of rent/alternative accommodation, accidental damage to building and contents, public liability, personal liability and employers' liability. All these are covered at limits that offer more benefits.
BARP Members also benefit from flexible payment options, lower deductibles and more savings on their curent insurance plan.
To join the programme, BARP members must be in good financial standing. For further information, contact CGM Gallagher, 434-2200/434-2282 or BARP, 228-7554.
